Cat# : THP-0538
| Cat#: | THP-0538 |
| Product Name: | Recombinant RSV (subgroup B/strain 18537) Prefusion F-trimer Protein |
| Description: | Recombinant RSV (strain 18537) Fusion glycoprotein F0 is expressed in a Mammalian system. The target gene encoding Gln26-Leu513 is expressed with a C-terminal 6His tag. Mutations are incorporated to stabilize the trimeric prefusion state of the RSV Fusion glycoprotein. |
| Molecular Weight: | 59.4 kDa |
| Introduction: | Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a highly contagious respiratory virus. The Fusion (F) glycoprotein is the primary target for neutralizing antibodies and a major focus for vaccine development. RSV F mediates viral entry by refolding from a metastable prefusion conformation into a stable postfusion state. The inactive F0 precursor is cleaved intracellularly into F1, F2, and p27. Antibodies targeting the prefusion conformation are significantly more potent than those recognizing the postfusion form. Stabilization of the prefusion F structure is a critical advancement in the design of effective RSV vaccines. |
