Bio-extraction is limited by the availability of raw materials, and it is often difficult to obtain sufficient amounts of therapeutic proteins for research.
Recombinant expression methods can be used to obtain sufficient amounts of research proteins from model organisms (E.coli, yeast, insect cells, etc.), but with the development of proteomics, a large number of therapeutic proteins containing non-natural components and post-translational modifications have been discovered, which are difficult to obtain by recombinant expression methods.
To overcome some of the drawbacks of bio-extraction or recombinant expression methods, several chemists have developed a series of protein chemical synthesis methods. Chemical synthesis can set up the synthesis of proteins at the atomic scale, and therefore protein chemical synthesis plays a pivotal role in obtaining these post-translational modified proteins.
Compared to bio-extraction, the chemical synthesis of therapeutic proteins is not limited by natural amino acids and can introduce unnatural amino acids into the protein sequence to meet the need for structural diversity of therapeutic proteins in research.
The ability to perform targeted modifications, modifications, and labeling of therapeutic proteins provide a more powerful means to study the structural function of proteins and their drug applications.
Intracellular imaging and tracking of therapeutic proteins
Improving the original physicochemical properties of therapeutic proteins such as water solubility and enzymatic stability
As a reference molecule for studying protein structure-function
Chemical synthesis and modification methods are important tools for designing therapeutic proteins, not only to maintain the biological activity of the protein, but also to overcome the disadvantages of protein toxicity, and to give the protein new properties such as physical and thermal stability and increased solubility.
As a leading supplier of therapeutic protein products, Creative BioMart provides high-quality chemically synthesized or modified therapeutic protein products to researchers in the fields of peptide and non-peptide pharmacology, immunology, diagnostics, and biocatalysis. In addition, we are constantly improving our manufacturing technology and updating our product list to develop new products for a broader range of research applications.
