Cat# : THP-0537
| Cat#: | THP-0537 |
| Product Name: | Recombinant RSV (subgroup B/strain 18537) Post-fusion F-trimer Protein |
| Description: | Recombinant RSV (strain 18537) Fusion glycoprotein F0 is produced by a Mammalian expression system. The target gene encoding Gln26-Leu513 is expressed with a C-terminal 6His tag. Mutations are introduced to stabilize the trimeric post-fusion conformation. |
| Molecular Weight: | 54.3 kDa |
| Introduction: | Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a prevalent respiratory pathogen causing significant morbidity in vulnerable populations. The RSV Fusion (F) protein is a key vaccine antigen, targeted by neutralizing antibodies. It mediates membrane fusion by transitioning from a labile prefusion form to a stable postfusion form. The inactive F0 precursor is processed by furin proteases into F1, F2, and p27 subunits. While neutralizing epitopes exist on both forms, prefusion-specific epitopes are more potent. Understanding the structural transition of F protein is central to vaccine development efforts. |
