• Introduction: Rabies virus (RABV) is a lethal zoonotic pathogen causing rabies. The RABV glycoprotein (RABV-G) mediates viral entry and is the primary target for neutralizing antibodies. RABV-G contains three domains; a pH shift from basic to acidic triggers domain reorientation and linker reconstruction, converting it from a bent hairpin to an extended conformation. Neutralizing antibodies bind a bipartite conformational epitope on RABV-G, primarily via the heavy chain. These structural insights inform vaccine and drug design.
