| Description: | Recombinant PRRSV (strain VR2332) nsp7 Protein is produced by an E. coli expression system. The target gene encoding Ser2200-Glu2458 is expressed with an N-terminal 6His tag. |
| Molecular Weight: | 30.9 kDa |
| Introduction: | Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) causes severe neonatal pneumonia and reproductive failure, impacting the global swine industry. The causative agent, PRRSV, is an enveloped positive-sense RNA virus (family Arteriviridae) with two distinct genotypes: European (Type I) and North American (Type II). Nonstructural protein 7 (nsp7), flanked by nsp6 and nsp8, is highly conserved. High titers of nsp-specific antibodies (against nsp1a, nsp1b, nsp2, nsp7) are produced during replication. Nsp7 is likely a critical domain for viral RNA synthesis and protein translation. |
