| Introduction: | Feline herpesvirus-1 (FeHV-1), causative agent of feline viral rhinotracheitis, is a major ocular and upper respiratory pathogen in domestic cats. A member of the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily, FeHV-1 establishes latency following primary infection. The gene encoding gp60 is homologous to gD genes of other herpesviruses, and FeHV-1 gD possesses hemagglutinating activity. Consequently, FeHV-1 gD is considered a critical candidate component for subunit vaccines against FeHV-1 infection. |
