Cat# : THP-0486
| Cat#: | THP-0486 |
| Product Name: | Recombinant BoHV-1 Envelope Glycoprotein E |
| Description: | Recombinant BoHV-1 (strain Cooper) Envelope glycoprotein E is produced by a Mammalian expression system. The target gene encoding Lys29-Trp423 is expressed with a C-terminal 6His tag. |
| Molecular Weight: | 42.9 kDa |
| Introduction: | Envelope glycoprotein E (gE) belongs to the glycoprotein family of Bovine Herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1), which also includes gB, gC, gD, gI, gH, gL, gG, gK, and gM. The extracellular domain of gE contains two conserved cysteine-rich regions (C1 and C2) and a short highly conserved region (GLYV) downstream of C2. In epithelial cells, the gE/gI heterodimer is required for cell-to-cell viral spread by sorting nascent virions to cell junctions. Additionally, glycoprotein E is reportedly essential for anterograde neuronal transport of BHV-1 from trigeminal ganglia to the nose and eye. |
