• Introduction: African swine fever (ASF) is a severe, highly contagious, and fatal viral disease caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV), a large icosahedral DNA virus. The external structural proteins p30 (30 kDa) and p54 (25 kDa), encoded by genes CP204L and E183L, respectively, mediate distinct steps of viral attachment and contribute to antibody-mediated protective immunity. The p54 protein is a major structural component essential for virus adsorption and entry into target cells, playing a key role in ASFV vaccine development and disease prevention strategies.
